Media personality Miles Rwamiti has expressed deep regret following his poor performance in the Nakawa West Division parliamentary race, where he managed only 242 votes across the entire constituency.

Rwamiti, who contested on the Common Man’s Party ticket, lost the election to the incumbent Joel Ssenyonyi, the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and a flag bearer of the National Unity Platform (NUP).

Speaking after the elections, Rwamiti admitted that he regrets his decision to run for the Nakawa West MP seat, arguing that the electorate missed an opportunity to choose capable leadership.

“I am in pain that I lost the position, but I believe the constituents will suffer more. They had an opportunity to choose a servant leader who truly cares about them, but they chose otherwise. I honestly regret the decision to contest in that constituency,” Rwamiti said in an interview with a local television station.

The former television host further claimed that Nakawa West residents will continue facing challenges under leadership he believes does not prioritize their welfare.

This is not the first time Rwamiti has suffered an electoral setback. In the 2021 general elections, he contested for the Hoima East MP seat on the FDC ticket and garnered only 149 votes.
