Musician King Saha has called upon fellow artistes to always speak out against poor service delivery, even before they personally become victims.
His comments come days after singer Green Daddy raised an alarm over alleged negligence at Mulago National Referral Hospital, following the tragic death of his newborn child. Green Daddy claimed the baby died due to failure by medical professionals at the government-run facility.
Reacting to the incident, King Saha urged artistes to use their platforms to address issues affecting ordinary Ugandans, regardless of political affiliations.
The singer particularly challenged artistes who lean towards the NRM to stop keeping quiet simply because they receive money or support from government.
“You should always speak out before falling victim of poor services. They affect everyone no matter the circumstances. We are always demanding for better services and some people say we are opposition. Even those in NRM should speak about bad services,” King Saha said in an interview with a local television station.
King Saha has been one of the most vocal musicians on issues of corruption, poor service delivery, and governance for over five years now. Besides speaking out, he has also used his music to highlight social injustices and demand accountability from leaders.
