Police in Luuka District are investigating the sudden death of a 50-year-old man who reportedly collapsed on the night of May 18, 2026, in Namulanda Parish, Bukooma Sub-county.
The deceased has been identified as Simon Kalamu, a resident of Namulanda B Village in Luuka District.
According to preliminary police reports, the incident happened at around 9:00pm when Kalamu allegedly went to a nearby bush with a 40-year-old woman from the same area.
It is alleged that the two were together in the bush when Kalamu suddenly collapsed shortly afterward. The woman reportedly raised an alarm, attracting nearby residents who later informed local authorities.
Police say investigations are ongoing to establish the exact cause of death. Authorities are expected to conduct further inquiries, including a postmortem examination, to determine what happened.
The incident has sparked concern and discussion among residents in the area as police continue gathering statements from witnesses.
