Ugandan musician, songwriter, and producer Mudra D’ Viral has revealed that he is stepping back from managing female musicians, citing the high costs and logistical demands involved.

Speaking during an interview on Galaxy FM, the Balo Balo hitmaker made the disclosure shortly after unveiling a new male artiste under his label, signaling a shift in focus toward developing male talent.

Mudra dismissed the common narrative that female artistes often leave him after he invests in building their careers, insisting that this has never been his main concern.

“It’s not that they leave me after I groom them. The biggest challenge is that managing a female artiste is much more expensive and demanding,” he explained.

The producer noted that male artistes offer greater flexibility in day-to-day management, pointing out the practical differences involved.

“A male artiste can quickly jump on a boda boda, eat anywhere, and be ready for an interview. With female artistes, there’s makeup, transport preferences, and many other preparations. It’s hectic and requires more resources,” he said.

Mudra, who has previously worked with artistes including Ava Peace and Winnie Wa Mummy, maintained that his decision is based on practicality rather than personal differences.
