Musician Kid Fox has admitted that he is largely out of touch with Uganda’s current music scene, revealing that his years abroad have left him unfamiliar with many of the artistes currently making waves.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Kid Fox explained that he has tried to catch up with the new generation through TikTok, but still struggles to recognise most of the names dominating the industry.
“I don't know current Ugandan musicians. I have tried to follow up on TikTok. However, most of them I have no idea,” he said.

His unfamiliarity with the current crop of musicians became more apparent when the show host began mentioning specific artistes.
Kid Fox admitted that he had no idea who Ray G, Tracy Melon and Elijah Kitaka were, despite their growing presence in Uganda's music industry.
The revelation highlights the generational gap between established artistes who spent significant periods away from the country and the newer crop that has largely built its audience through digital platforms such as TikTok.
