Veteran Ugandan musician Clever J has dismissed claims that King Saha has earned a place among Uganda’s so-called “Big Three” musicians.
The debate resurfaced after Saha’s recent sold-out concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval, with some music fans arguing that his growing popularity and catalogue now put him in the same conversation as Uganda’s established stars.
Others have even suggested that Saha could replace Bebe Cool in the commonly used “Big Three” discussion.
However, Clever J believes Saha still has more work to do before reaching that level.
“He has not reached that level and has a lot to do. He is not there yet, according to me. He has work to do,” he said.
Clever J also questioned the factors behind Saha’s recent momentum, suggesting that his association with opposition politician and musician Bobi Wine has contributed to his growing popularity.
He further pointed to Saha’s previous connections with established musicians, including Dr Jose Chameleone, as part of the singer’s journey in the industry.
