Musician Tracy Melon has opened up about a difficult health journey that has kept her in and out of hospital in recent months, urging people to show more kindness instead of judging others based on what they see online.
Speaking to Galaxy TV, Tracy said her reduced presence in the music scene has been linked to her health struggles rather than a deliberate decision to step away.
“I have had quite a rollercoaster health wise this year. I have had to battle with health complications that make me cry just talking about it. I am better now. When you see people walking on the street, be kind because when they return to their houses, everybody is battling something,” she said.
Tracy said her condition was at times serious despite continuing to share content on social media, where followers could easily assume that everything was fine.
“When you see me on social media posting, you don't know that last night I was caught between life and death, just in the middle of not knowing if I will wake up tomorrow or not. The world should extend more kindness,” she added.
The singer also addressed concerns about her noticeable weight loss, revealing that she has lost about 13 kilogrammes during her health struggles.
Tracy said the weight loss was not intentional and was linked to her frequent hospital visits.
“I have lost a lot of weight, like 13 kg, and people keep asking me to stop slimming, but I wish I could. It's not under my control. It just happened because of constantly being in and out of the hospital. I'm recovering well now, and I am grateful to God,” she said.
Tracy said she is now recovering and used her experience to encourage people to be more compassionate, noting that struggles are not always visible from a person’s public appearance or social media posts.
