Former Principal Press Secretary to the Speaker of Parliament Joseph Sabiti is reportedly facing an exit from Parliament after failing to provide the required documentation to verify that he holds a master’s degree.

According to reports, Sabiti is among staff members whose recruitment is under scrutiny as Parliament verifies employees’ academic qualifications and other documents.

Sources cited in the reports said the position he held required a master’s degree, but he had not provided evidence that he had completed the qualification.

When he appeared before the team verifying staff credentials, Sabiti reportedly presented provisional results from a master’s programme in Strategic and Corporate Communication, which he is pursuing at Makerere University.

However, the verification team reportedly required a transcript or certificate to establish his academic qualifications.

Sabiti is now said to be considering a return to Next Media, where he previously worked as a journalist.

The reported development comes amid the verification of staff credentials at Parliament. However, the circumstances surrounding Sabiti’s possible departure have not been independently confirmed.
