Forget the old days when Chubby Straka Mwezi of fallen WBS would stand before her cameras on late show to beg artistes to submit their videos. Forget the days when music videos were stage performances. Currently the music industry has grown and artistes invest in their work targeting international awards and television platforms like MTV, Trace and BET.

In the early 2000s, Bebe Cool was the only artist making videos worthy airtime on TV. His hard work saw him bag Channel 0 video of the year accolade for Kube in 2006.

Because of his persistence he also recently got nominated in 2015 MAMa's for Love You Everyday video. Artsites that have tried to display good video work include Bebe Cool, Cindy, Sheebah, Radio and Weasel, Chameleone and to a surprise many of the band artistes have joined the movement as well. Take a look at Meshach Semakula's recent Totya Bigambo video shot by Sasha vybz.

What you watch for 3minutes ..... and actually criticise is captured after long hours may be days. Today we celebrate the unsung heroes behind the great work.

Sasha Vybz

Talk of quality videos and this guy's name will pop up, he works under his own label Savy Films that broke to fame in 2014 after shooting videos like Stress Free video by Face Off featuring Eddie Kenzo. Sasha Vybz studied filming in SouthAfrica and actually the above video is one of the few he captured during internship.

He is currently the "God" of videos and only settles for big budget money work.Sasha has shot Kisasi Kimu by Sheeba, The way by Sheeba, Dede by Bebe Cool, Nana by Bebe cool, Totya Bigambo by Mesach Semakula, Pull Up by Voltage music, Jubilation by Kenzo, Juice by radio and Weasel, Musomesa by Gravity and the list is endless.

Jahlive

Frank Mugerwa of Jahlive films at one point had this industry by his palm and when you sat at home watching local televison every video that popped up would have been captured by this gentleman. He is humble guy when you meet him on a normal day but his influence is way big. Frank's premises are located on Salama road Makindye. His label has been associated with artistes like Eddie Kenzo, Gravity, Tip Swizzy, Fefe Busi among many others.

He has outed the biggest number of videos in the history of this country and it's no surprise he recently bought of his landlord and no longer pays rent for the studio premises. He was the man behind BET award winning Sitya loss by Kenzo, Omwana W'abandi by Good life, Obudde by Good life, Nandi Ku lesse mukyalo by David Lutalo and the list is endless.

 Badi Films

Lukyamuzi Bashir of Badi films and studio is another big name though his hands on the video are on and off as he keeps on flying in and out of the country to meet his Dubai businesses.

Commonly known as L Bashir he must be the guy that introduced quality work even before Sasha Vybz started crawling. He made a break through around 2007 and the mega video that introduced Bashir was Nkumila Omukwano by Azizi Azion. He the owned the game for some time releasing songs like Nyumbani by Good life, Where you are by Good life and Blue*3, Kikankane by GNL, Ogenda kunzisa by Kenzo, Yanimba by Kenzo and Mikie Wine, Talk and Talk by Good life, Mr Deejay ft All stars.Currently, he has done EVA by Ykee Benda, Mariana by Apass among many others.

Bashir happens to be an artiste manager as well. He has handled A pass who recently exited the label leaving Ykee Benda behind.

 Kim XP

Does Kim need any introduction when we speak of videos? This guy's game might be currently not so good but I bet you can't miss out on the efforts. Kim XP of Contact images made a break through around 2008 and has released a lot of Bobi Wine videos and also captured and edited Ebonies stage shows and televisions series.

 Zyga Phix

Remarkably the new boy on the scene we must say, Zyga lately is doing good and can't go unnoticed. His most trending video is Akusse By Sheeba and a bunch of other local songs.
