Play01 has dropped his most anticipated body of work, the “AURA” album, an album he has been teasing us for almost 5 years, since 2017.
“AURA” stands for “A Ugandan Rap Album,” which should give you an insight into it, he describes it as his most complete body of work so far.
He further explains that while it’s a “Rap Album,” it’s made to cut through across the board for all listeners; hip-hop lovers, and the regular listener;
“Hip hop in Uganda evolved into Hip-hop for Hiphopers. I've spent a decent number of years trying to change that narrative, and as of this moment, my pride lies in creating a piece that will be appreciated beyond gender, beyond genre, beyond age; to make it a limitless project NOT for rappers, NOT for artists, NOT for hip hopers, but instead to make rap music for music listeners & lovers".
With assistance from Kenneth Mugabi, Adrenalyn Muzik, Vyperanking, Santana Karma, etc, you can best believe that he tapped into the different artists cutting across most of Uganda’s music genres.
It’s a 17-long track-list album with each track giving you a different perspective on the Ugandan way of life!
