Musician Dr Loverboy has stirred debate after boldly claiming he is musically better than Ugandan icons Jose Chameleone and Bebe Cool.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Loverboy asserted that he would always rank himself number one—even if placed side by side with the two celebrated artistes.
“Even if I am put here with Chameleone, I would rank myself in the number one position, then him second. Even if it’s Bebe Cool, I would do the same. I can never weaken myself. Weakening myself means putting my career down,” he explained.
The singer emphasized that self-belief is crucial in the competitive music industry, adding that acknowledging weakness could negatively impact his brand.
When pressed further, Loverboy doubled down on his stance, saying he would maintain the same confidence even in the presence of Fik Fameica or global pop legend Michael Jackson.
His remarks have since sparked mixed reactions among music fans, with some praising his confidence while others view it as outright disrespect toward established legends.
