Five acquitted 2010 terror suspects were re- arrested moments after Justice Alphonse Owiny Dollo of the high court declared them free.
The suspects include Omar Awadh Omar, Muhamad Hamid Suleiman, Yahya Suleiman Mbuthia, Batematyo Abubakar and Dr Ismael Kalule. They had been in Luzira since 2010 when twin bombings rocked Kampala as revelers watched the world cup matches.
On Thursday, Justice Dollo convicted 7 suspects and is expected to give sentences today. They include Hussein Agade, Idris Magondu, Issa Luyima, Hassan Haruna Luyima, Muzafaru Luyima, Muhammad Ali Muhammad, Habib Suleiman Njoroge and Suleiman Nyamandondo.
Now, Police has re-arrested the five suspects who were acquitted moments after regaining their freedom and that their whereabouts are yet to be known, according to Caleb Alaka, their lawyer.
But according to Police Spokesman Fred Enanga, they are detained for their safety.
