Over five thousand people have today received free health services at a health camp organized by the Uganda Health Marketing Group UHMG as part of the organization’s 10 year anniversary celebrations.
The health camp was at Nabagereka gardens in Mengo Kisenyi.
During today’s health camp, integrated health services were provided in family planning, malaria, HIV, STI, nutrition, Hepatitis B vaccination, cervical cancer screening and general diagnosis of common ailments.
Speaking at the event, chief guest, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga encouraged people to adopt healthy lifestyles so that they are able to work and create wealth.
He said; “Buganda Kingdom is keen on ensuring that people are healthy and adopt positive living behaviors.”
According to UHMG Managing Director, Joyce Tamale, the camp is one of the ways to reach the underserved communities with quality health services.
“Kisenyi is one of the densely populated slum areas with a lot of commercial activity and a weak health structure. This causes serious health challenges such as high HIV Infection, unmet need for family planning, high Malaria cases and sanitation problems,” she said.
