Jail bird, Nakawa Municipality MP Michael Kabaziguruka is at last a free man. The troubled legislators was this afternoon granted 5 million cash bail and a 10 million shillings non-cash bond by High court judge Justice Yasin Nyanzi.
Kabaziguruka presented four sureties, Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, FDC Chairperson Maj Gen Mugisha Muntu, Hon Kasibante Moses and Hon Semujju Nganda, who were given a Shs. 100million none cash bond.
His bail came after offices of the Directorate of Public Prosecution and the Attorney General dropped out of the bail application hearing.
Justice Nyanzi based on this and many other factors to grant the bail.
Also the same parties involved, that is the Attorney General, UPDF and the DPP were all served with affidavits but none of them opposed this matter and decided to drop out of it.
Justice Nyanzi called upon the lawmakers in the country to ensure that they put in place laws which can be used in addressing such circumstances whenever they arise.
