High Court Registrar in Jinja, Jesse Byaruhanga Rugyema has issued an interim order directing the army to remove the roadblock, blocking access to Guardian Community Nursery and Primary School.

Byaruhanga issued the order in response to an application filed by James William Muwaya, the Director Guardian Community Nursery and Primary School.

He has also directed the army to allow the pupils to access the school for studies without any disturbances until March 6th 2017 when the main application will be heard.

Muwaya petitioned court through Musuuza and Company Advocates on Tuesday this week after the army blocked access to the school, which sits on plot M144 Kibomba road in Kimaka Parish in Mpumudde division of Jinja municipality.

On Monday, UPDF soldiers turned away pupils and teachers who had reported for the first term opening. UPDF claims ownership of the five acre piece of land hosting the school that neighbors the Senior Command and Staff College (USCSC).

Muwaya told reporters this afternoon that the court is a huge relief to the school, which intends to open on Thursday for pupils.  By press time, the army was yet to remove the road block.
