Two people in the southwestern district of Mitooma have been sent to their creator by a mob during a revenge fight.

The development followed the killing of Allen Pamela by her husband Marisiano Bwesigye, 24 on Wednesday, accusing her of promiscuity.

Bwesigye would later handhimself over to police at Bitereko sub county head quarters.

Filled with anger, Pamela’s relatives stormed the suspect's home in  Kalisizo cell, Karimbiro Parish, Bitereko Sub County in Mitoma district and started targeting his relatives.

The enraged relatives, who had travelled from Kiyanga Sub County, were armed with machetes and pangas. They set five houses on fire and destroyed banana plantations in addition to killing two people.

Those killed are Reginah Kyomuhendo, a sister to the suspect and his mother only identified as Korugyendo.

Mitooma district police commander, Hussein Nuwagaba says the police have arrested Marisiano Bwesigye and are also hunting for the ring-leaders of the mob, adding that there was no need for the deceased's relatives to take the law in their hands since the suspect was already in police custody.

Nuwagaba further cautioned locals in the area to desist from acts of mob justice saying that in most cases innocent people are killed or hurt.
