Police in Masaka are hunting for unknown assailants who murdered a Boda Boda rider and stole his motorcycle.
The deceased is Sseremba Ronald 26 years old a Boda Boda rider at Midikom stage, Nyendo Mukungwe in Masaka City.
It is alleged that last evening, Sseremba was hired from the Boda Stage at Midikom by an unidentified male customer to take him to Kizungu zone in Masaka City on his motorcycle Reg No UFK 109 W Bajaj Boxer red in colour.
However, upon reaching the destination, they were intercepted by other people who are suspected to be accomplices of the said customer.
Muhammad Nsubuga the regional PRO says the assailants murdered him, dragged his body to the walkway towards the gate of Stella Nyanzi's parents’ residence and made away with his motorcycle.
A team of officers led by DPC SP Nanoka Moses, together with SOCO visited the scene of the crime and recovered a pair of black shoes, a jacket and a mobile phone itel in make, all suspected to belong to the deceased.
Statements from other Boda Boda riders who saw him leave the stage have been recorded.
The deceased’s body has been conveyed to Masaka Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for post mortem.
