Three people have been burnt to death for alleged theft within a space of two days in Takajunge Village in Nama Sub County in Mukono District
The first incident happened yesterday Wednesday when an unidentified man was set ablaze on accusations of stealing a motorcycle.

Another incident occurred today Thursday morning when two men were bundled together and burnt beyond recognition for allegedly stealing half a sack of bananas.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, investigations into both incidents are ongoing. Owoyesigyire says that the police have recovered wires, stones, and blood-stained bamboo sticks from the scene for examination.

“So far, the bodies have been examined by our Soco team, and blood swabs were taken to ascertain DNA analysis. The bodies have been taken to Mulago city mortuary for postmortem and the case file of murder by mobs opened up at Mukono Police Division,” says Owoyesigyire.
He added that police have so far identified the owner of the stolen motorcycle as Siraji Burenna, a resident of Kakara Village in Nakifuma Sub County.

Burenna had reported the loss of his motorcycle on Tuesday before it was sighted at Takajunge prompting the mob to beat up the rider and set his body on fire.
