Uganda is the first country in Africa to produce a complete one pill, once daily drug regimen.
The drug, called Trioday is being produced by Cipla Quality Chemicals Industries in Luzira, a Kampala suburb. The industry has so far produced enough to supply the whole of East Africa.
Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta promised to support the country buy the drugs during his visit to the factory earlier today. The Kenyan government has set aside about 136 billion Uganda shillings purposely for medicine purchases.
