The Uganda Sugar Industry Stakeholder Council will replace and take on duties of the Sugar Board created by the Sugar Act 2020, and regulate the sugar industry in the country.

The Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court has issued a second set of criminal summons against Molly Katanga and her Daughter Martha Nkwanzi, requiring them to appear in court and be charged with the murder of businessman Henry Katanga.

Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has reported a significant increase in tax revenue from fish maw exports since the introduction of an eight percent export levy under the Fish (Amendment) Act 2021.
