The Day Radio Died Should  Be Declared a Public Holiday - Ykee Benda 

Mowzey Radio is one of the most loved artists in Uganda. As many remember and celebrate his life, Ykee Benda has asked the government to declare the day he passed, 1st February, as a public holiday.

While speaking at Kagga where Radio was laid to rest in 2018, he said the late singer was an asset to this country, his shoes are too big to fill.

“Radio was exceptional. Even though we celebrate his life, I feel like we are not doing enough. A public holiday would have been better,” Ykee Benda said.

He went on to say how he used to copy Radio’s lyrics and incorporate them into his own.
