Delta TV station launched in early 2015 but it has since struggled to penetrate the market in Uganda.

The Katwe-based TV station was previously owned by city tycoon Gaster Lule Ntake, Abbey Mukiibi Nkaaga, and Patrick Ssebunjo.

It is reported that the two major shareholders sold it in 2021 to a businessman whose identity is still a mystery to update.

They decided to let go of the TV station after realizing that it had failed to break even yet operational costs were increasingly becoming unbearable for them.

This move left many employees stunned as they had not received full salaries for months and because of this, they have finally decided to strike.

In a letter addressed to the general manager, the employees announced that they had laid down tools and would not resume work if the arrears are not cleared.

“In this regard, therefore, we bring to your notice that we were forced to lay down our working tools, ” an excerpt of the letter read.

Our efforts to reach the General Manager of Delta TV for a comment were futile by press time.
