Socialite Bad Black was one of the richest Ugandan socialites ten years ago. She was known for declaring open bars for partiers in top city hangouts.
From organizing multi-million parties, Bad Black was never afraid to spend.
But things changed when she was sent to Luzira prison over fraud in 2011.
She was charged for embezzling about Shs11 billion from a real estate company where she was a co-director with her boyfriend, Greenhalgh.
Bad Black’s pockets run dry and some of her assets were possessed.
After her release in 2016, she tried to recover financially but failed. She resorted to vending her Kandahar in Malaysia and Dubai but still, she couldn't land another loaded zungu. She has since been struggling to make ends meet.
The latest on our desk indicates that Bad Black is on the run after failing to clear a debt of Shs 250K.
“Bad Black ordered clothes from me on her birthday, when the boda guy reached her place, she said she wanted to deposit directly on my line plus the delivery guy’s money totaling to “250k”. The day ended without any deposit, but when I tried contacting her, she just kept on promising to pay. The following day, after making many calls, she just sent me 100k and she promised to send the balance in a few minutes but she didn’t.
I kept on reminding her but she later blocked all my lines even on WhatsApp. I then tried her on Snapchat, she sent 50k. When I told her about the other balance, the best she said was that she will bring back one of the dresses on Monday but up to now she has failed to pay my balance nor brought back the clothes and it’s almost a month," a city business lady posted on her social media platforms.
Efforts to reach Bad Black were futile by press time.
