Sembabule District is one of the few where the NRM continues to dominate in the Central Region of Uganda.
They have much influence, and the current Woman MP of the district, Mary Begumisa, subscribes to the National Resistance Movement.
However, Nina Roz is not intimidated and says she will be successful if she is entrusted with the National Unity Platform ticket in the coming elections.
"I may look small, but just know I am not someone who can be intimidated. The NRM cadres are on the ground, but I have the majority support in the district. I just want this endorsement from the party to come out successful," she explained.
Nina Roz picked up the nomination forms to express interest in the Sembabule Woman MP position on the NUP ticket on Tuesday this week.
The singer has a history of backing the opposition, especially Bobi Wine, and has long spread his message in the music industry.
We await to see if the NUP elections management committee deems her fit for the position.
