Media personality MC Casmir (real name Casmir Mukisa Kimenyi) has opened up about one of the most painful chapters of his life—the loss of his son’s mother, Evelyn Nshemerirwe Happy.

Evelyn passed away in January 2024, and Casmir says her death was caused by years of shisha smoking.

Speaking in a candid YouTube interview, Casmir described Evelyn as someone who loved the nightlife and often indulged in shisha and alcohol. Over time, however, those habits took a serious toll on her health.

She developed a persistent cough, pneumonia, and severe lung damage. Despite his constant pleas and doctors’ warnings, Evelyn struggled to change her lifestyle.

In December 2023, during a family trip, Evelyn suddenly fell ill with a high fever. She was rushed to the hospital, but tests revealed that her lungs had been permanently damaged—mostly as a result of prolonged shisha use. Just a week later, she passed away.

Now left to raise their young son, Casmir says he carries the pain of her loss but also a lesson he feels compelled to share.

He’s using his platform to warn young Ugandans about the dangers of shisha and other intoxicants, reminding them that the consequences extend beyond the user and deeply affect the people who love them.
