Upcoming musician Omukuja Atasera has accused Bukedde's Simo Omunene wekibuga of making off with his bag containing millions of cash.
Omukuja Atasera performed in London alongside Bobi Wine, Nubian Li, and other artists. The group traveled to London together with media personality Simo Omunene.
However, Omukuja explained that while he was performing, different people gifted him millions of cash. He put his money in a bag, which was then snatched by Simo Omunene.
He says Simo Omunene made off with the bag containing the money and has adamantly refused to return the cash despite pleas from various individuals.
"Every note that they gave me is worth a lot in Ugandan shillings. One lady gave me $500 and another $600; that is all, besides the pounds that they gifted me. It was a lot of money, and I want to plead with Symo to bring it back," he said.
Omukujja Atasera, who was scheduled to return to the country this past Monday, canceled his flight to wait for Simo Omunene at the hotel.
However, upon his return, Simo offered Omukuja peanuts and promised to give him three million Uganda shillings and a laptop.
"I have hustled a lot, but you have decided to drag me back at this point when I have started living my dream. Just like you have things to deal with, I also have bills to pay. I had to pay the producer behind the song that brought me to London. How will I tell my friends that I do not have their money?” Omukuja Atasera is heard pleading with Simo Omunene in a video circulating online.
