Singer Omulangira Suuna (OS) has accused fellow musician and Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) president Eddy Kenzo of deliberately blocking his attempts to meet President Yoweri Museveni and General Salim Saleh.
Speaking during a media interview, Suuna expressed frustration, claiming that Kenzo is a selfish individual who doesn’t want others to benefit from opportunities within government.
“It’s not all good when you are dealing with Eddy Kenzo. He once blocked me from meeting General Salim Saleh and later from meeting President Museveni. He is selfish and doesn’t wish others well,” Suuna alleged.
The singer said he had wanted to meet the President or officials at the NRM Secretariat to discuss the campaign songs he recorded in support of Museveni, but Kenzo allegedly frustrated all his efforts.
Suuna, who has often been linked to pro-government activities, insisted that his intentions were genuine and aimed at strengthening ties between musicians and the ruling establishment — but that Kenzo has turned such connections into his personal advantage.
The accusations add to the growing tensions and divisions within Uganda’s music industry, especially among artistes with differing political affiliations and interests.
