My Children Don’t Know I’m Famous – Cindy

Celebrated Ugandan musician Cinderella Sanyu, popularly known as Cindy, has revealed that despite her fame and success, her children are unaware that she is a celebrity.

The singer, who prefers to keep her family life private, explained that at home she is simply “mum,” not a star. Her kids only see her as their mother, not as the music powerhouse adored by fans across Uganda.

“My children don’t know I’m famous. Right now, they really don’t know. My three-year-old doesn’t know I’m Cinderella. My firstborn only found out that I’m a star when she was eight years old — through her friends at school,” Cindy shared during an interview with a local TV station.

She added that most of her children don’t even know her by her stage name, and she prefers to keep it that way until they are old enough to understand.

Cindy emphasized that shielding her children from the spotlight is a deliberate choice meant to give them a normal upbringing.

“I believe children should be kept out of the limelight for their own good,” she said.

Cindy, who has been in the music industry for over 15 years, continues to balance her thriving career with motherhood — keeping both worlds firmly apart.
