Television star and businesswoman Anatalia Ozie has become the center of online mockery after her emotional appeal to Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) for compensation went viral.

The media personality, who runs an undergarments business in Kikuubo, Kampala, was among those severely affected by the heavy rains that destroyed property and claimed lives across the city last week.

While speaking during a meeting with Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and Executive Director Sharifa Buzeki, a teary Anatalia said she was not interested in politics but only wanted a refund for her losses.

“We are not politicians, and we’re not interested in that talk. We only want compensation for the damages we suffered. I have no other option but to seek a refund,” Anatalia said.

However, social media users have since mocked her remarks, arguing that she contradicted herself by seeking help from politicians while claiming to be “apolitical.”

“You say you’re not interested in politics but want help from politicians — stay away from politics if you mean it,” popular blogger Peng Peng commented.

Despite the criticism, Anatalia maintains she is still seeking support from General Salim Saleh and the President’s office to recover her business losses.
