Respected media personality Farida Nakazibwe has opened up on why she decided to call it quits from Television in October 2023, ending a career that spanned nearly 20 years at the Serena-based NTV Uganda.
For months, Nakazibwe remained silent about her decision, but she has now disclosed that the emotional toll from her popular show “Mwasuze Mutya” was the main reason she walked away.
The soft-spoken journalist explained that listening to heartbreaking stories from guests every day left her emotionally drained and mentally exhausted.
“For the last two years, I felt drained. The stories I used to air on Mwasuze Mutya really affected me. It was extremely exhausting, and many left me vulnerable,” she revealed in an interview with a local TV station.
Farida added that she also wanted to take a break from the public spotlight to focus on her private life and spend more time with her children.
“I wanted to live a private life away from employment and dedicate time to my kids,” she added.
Nakazibwe remains one of Uganda’s most respected media figures and continues to inspire many with her poise, grace, and professionalism.
