Gagamel boss Bebe Cool has once again criticized Bobi Wine and his political outfit, NUP, saying the opposition party lacks the capacity and preparation to lead Uganda.
The outspoken singer, who is currently on the campaign trail drumming support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, said NUP’s failure to nominate candidates in several constituencies across the country shows their lack of readiness.
“In the current Parliament, they have about 57 MPs but fielded only 297 candidates while NRM has over 500, plus other leaning candidates. Ten MPs from NRM have already gone unopposed even before elections. Does he mean they had no one who could step up in those places?” Bebe Cool said in an interview with a local TV station.
He added that this failure is proof that Bobi Wine and his team still have a long way to go in understanding the realities of national politics.
“They are not ready for leadership; it only proves they need to do better and maybe prepare for 2031,” he said.
Bebe Cool has openly supported President Museveni for years, often clashing with Bobi Wine both musically and politically.
It should be noted that several NUP aspirants failed to complete their nominations due to financial challenges, despite the party identifying candidates for most constituencies.
