I Wanted Joshua Baraka to Become a Doctor - Mom

Fast-rising musician Joshua Baraka recently staged his successful maiden concert at Ndere Centre in Kampala over the weekend. The milestone event brought together fans and attendees from across the city.

The concert was also graced by Joshua Baraka's mother, who took the opportunity to speak about his early years and her initial aspirations for his career.

She confessed that she had originally hoped for a different path for her son:

"I personally wanted Joshua to become a doctor, but God had other plans for him. He is doing music at the moment, and I thank Ugandans for supporting him; they should continue to do so," she explained in an interview with a local television station.

Joshua Baraka's mother further clarified the singer's origins, addressing long-standing industry rumors that he came from a wealthy background or that his career was strategically planned.

"Actually, I am a pastor, and his father is a pastor as well. So he is from a humble background, not a product of privilege or careful planning, as some suggested. It all remains with God for the blessings," she explained, confirming their deep-rooted faith.

She concluded her remarks by reinforcing her plea for continued support for Joshua Baraka's music career.
