Musician Cinderella Sanyu (Cindy) has offered strong advice to women who are still pursuing success—stay away from marriage until you achieve your goals.
Speaking from personal experience, Cindy explained that marriage is demanding, requires sacrifice, and can easily derail ambitious women who have not yet built their careers or independence.
“I think women who want absolute freedom should stay away from marriage, and those who want to achieve should first achieve before committing to someone,” she said.
According to Cindy, marriage comes with responsibilities, respect, patience, and emotional maturity—requirements many young women are not yet ready for.
Cindy is married to actor and photographer Prince Okuyo Atiku, whom she wed on December 11, 2021, at St. Stephen’s Church, Kisugu.
The couple also held a traditional introduction ceremony earlier that year at her ancestral home in Eastern Uganda.
