Ugandan TikToker Jayden recently launched a fundraiser seeking UGX 200 million for a bone marrow transplant in Nairobi. The campaign has already raised over UGX 20 million through fundraising live sessions hosted by Bruno K, Kasuku, and Shalom.
However, netizens are questioning the accountability of the funds, with YouTuber Tamale Mirundi Jr leading the concerns.
He argued that Jayden’s mother should manage the money directly, claiming the current handlers may have “profit motives.”
“People are afraid. They believe the money isn’t safe. Jayden’s mother should manage the funds, because we shall demand accountability,” he said.
Reports suggest the fundraiser has collected nearly UGX 50 million, though UGX 150 million is still needed.
