A few weeks ago, renowned talent manager and businessman Ronnie Mulindwa was accused of running an online prostitution and adult streaming ring in Kampala.
Mulindwa, who previously managed the Obsessions music group and singer Lydia Jazmine, was named as the main suspect following a raid by the Directorate of Crime Intelligence. The operation led to the arrest of 27 young women suspected of being involved in the alleged ring. Since then, Mulindwa has reportedly remained on the run.
Speaking about the matter, Lydia Jazmine said she was shocked by the allegations and insisted that she never knew Mulindwa to be involved in such activities.
The singer explained that during the time they worked together, Mulindwa was respectful, professional, and played an important role in guiding her both in music and in life.
“Ronnie and I worked together for a short time before the lockdown, and Covid-19 messed up our plans. We are still friends, though we haven't seen each other in a while. I last saw him two years ago, but he still sends business deals my way when people reach out to him. I can’t say anything bad about him,” Lydia Jazmine said.
Jazmine added that she only learned about the allegations through social media and has not yet spoken to Mulindwa about them.
“I saw the allegations on social media just like everyone else. I haven't spoken to him yet. Truly, I never experienced anything bad with him, and we never had any issues. He was like a big brother to me, a very smart man who actually taught me about business. I could have called him about the rumors, but I didn’t even want to believe them because I just don't know him like that,” she added.
