Pastor Aloysious Bujjingo has revealed that the estimated cost of his long-awaited Pentagon Church project has risen from Shs100 billion to approximately Shs120 billion due to rising construction costs and economic changes.
The House of Prayer Ministries lead pastor made the revelation while addressing his congregation, explaining that the ambitious project continues to face significant financial challenges.
Bujjingo said the initial cost estimate made in 2019 was about Shs100 billion. However, the projected budget has since increased to around Shs120 billion.
The pastor said the church is also targeting about $15 million to enable construction of the massive project to get underway.
The Pentagon Church has been in the pipeline for several years, with Bujjingo repeatedly calling on his followers and well-wishers to support its construction.
In 2025, Bujjingo revealed that construction had been delayed after consultations with the project committee showed that the funds collected were not enough to commence the project.
According to the pastor, the church had raised less than a tenth of the required amount, leaving a substantial funding gap.
Despite the financial challenges, Bujjingo maintains that the Pentagon Church remains a major project for House of Prayer Ministries.
Construction is expected to begin once sufficient funds have been raised to meet the project's revised budget.
