Social media personality and critic Frank Gashumba has called on Baganda to rally behind musician King Saha ahead of his concert this Friday at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in Kampala.
Gashumba said Baganda should develop the same spirit of supporting their own artistes that Western Ugandans demonstrated during Ray G’s recent concert, where he said fans turned up in large numbers to support their own.
Speaking about King Saha’s upcoming show, Gashumba said he intends to lead by example by attending the concert alongside his wife, Malaika.
“I am going to support King Saha. It is my responsibility to support him and I will show up this Friday. Baganda should learn to appreciate their own just like Westerners did. I will go along with Malaika,” he said.
Gashumba’s comments come as anticipation builds around King Saha’s concert, which is expected to attract fans from across the country.
He argued that supporting local artistes should go beyond words, urging people to turn up for shows and demonstrate their appreciation through attendance.
The remarks have also reignited discussion about regional pride in Uganda’s entertainment industry and the role fans play in supporting artistes from their respective communities.
