Socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan has challenged people obsessed with glamorous lifestyles on social media, urging them to stop comparing themselves to carefully curated images of success.
Zari said many people admire the wealth and luxury displayed online without considering the years of sacrifice, discipline and hard work that often go into building such lifestyles.
She challenged those aspiring to live similar lives to first ask themselves whether they are prepared to put in the necessary work.
“You as a person who is admiring this life, are you willing to put in the work?” she questioned.
“Build Yourself Slowly”
According to Zari, some women in particular are putting themselves under unnecessary pressure while trying to recreate picture-perfect lifestyles they see online.
She noted that social media often gives people an unrealistic view of how successful individuals actually live, with many of the struggles and sacrifices remaining hidden from the public.
Rather than chasing overnight success, Zari encouraged people to start from wherever they are and gradually work their way up.
“Start as a junior executive, and you will become a senior executive with time because people in the company see your efforts,” she added.
Not Everyone Has to Be a Boss
Zari's message was ultimately about accepting that success does not have to look the same for everyone.
While some people may build businesses and become entrepreneurs, others can achieve financial stability through employment and steadily climbing the corporate ladder.
