Socialite Zari Hassan has dismissed reports that she chased singer Dr Jose Chameleone from her 46th birthday celebration over an alleged violation of the event’s dress code.
Videos from the lavish birthday party recently circulated online showing Zari instructing her security team to remove some casually dressed guests.
The footage sparked speculation that Chameleone, who attended the celebration, was among those asked to leave.
However, Zari has denied the reports, explaining that the people removed from the party were three individuals she did not know.
“It was not Chameleone. It was three people I didn’t know who were dressed in a very disorganised manner,” she said.
According to Zari, the guests were wearing untidy T-shirts and dirty sneakers, which irritated her and prompted her to instruct security to escort them out.
She also dismissed claims that she would deliberately humiliate Chameleone, stressing that the two have maintained a longstanding friendship.
“Chameleone is my friend. We have been there for each other throughout the years. I had not even seen him when I instructed security,” she added.
Zari accused those pushing the Chameleone version of the story of seeking online attention.
She further revealed that she plans to obtain footage from the incident to establish exactly who was removed and put the speculation to rest.
