Veteran media personality Omulangira Ndawusi has criticised music promoter Jeff Kiwa’s decision to build a new music project around Ava Peace, arguing that the singer has not lived up to expectations.
Speaking during an interaction with a local YouTuber, Ndawusi claimed that Kiwa invested heavily in Ava Peace with hopes of positioning her as a successor to Sheebah Karungi at Team No Sleep (TNS), but believes the project has fallen short.
“I have taken long without seeing Jeff Kiwa, but if I met him, I would tell him that the project he adopted of having Ava Peace replace Sheebah has failed,” Ndawusi said.
Ndawusi argued that Ava Peace’s failure to stage a major concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval is one of the signs, in his view, that the project has not progressed as expected.
He also pointed to Kiwa’s recent creative decisions, particularly Jose Chameleone’s involvement in the song “Yeffe,” as another indication that the TNS boss may be exploring a different approach.
“Even Ava Peace was supposed to be the one singing this song, but Jeff realised she would not bring it out the way he wanted, so he had to bring in Dr. Jose Chameleone,” Ndawusi added.
Ava Peace enjoyed a strong run under TNS after joining the label, releasing several successful songs and collaborations. However, Ndawusi believes her recent momentum has slowed and questions whether she can eventually occupy the space previously held by Sheebah.
His comments remain his personal assessment of Ava Peace’s career and Kiwa’s music strategy.
