Socialite Zari Hassan has revealed that Marriott Hotel in Kampala paid her to host her 46th birthday celebration, covering the event’s expenses, including decorations, food and drinks.
Zari marked her birthday in style at the hotel, with the celebration attracting attention on social media following reports that security personnel were asked to remove some attendees over their dress code.
The incident sparked speculation that musician Jose Chameleone was among those targeted. However, Zari later dismissed the claims, explaining that her concern was with people she described as uninvited guests rather than Chameleone.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Zari revealed that she did not spend her own money on the celebration, saying the hotel covered the costs and paid her to host the event.
“I never spent any coin on my birthday this year. It is Marriott that paid me to host the birthday. They catered for everything, including meals, drinks and whatever was there. I never spent a coin, and I am really grateful to the management,” she said.
Her revelation has added another dimension to the discussion surrounding the birthday celebration, which drew attention both for its glamour and the controversy over guest access.
Zari also expressed appreciation to the hotel management for supporting the event.
