Media celebrity Shalom Kaweesi has opened up about being sexually abused during his childhood, saying the incident involved his maternal aunt while his mother was away.
Speaking during an interview with fellow YouTuber and former television host Flavia Namulindwa, Shalom recounted how the experience unfolded and said his mother eventually discovered what had happened and removed his aunt from their home.
“The first person who had sexual relations with me was my mother’s sister. Eventually, when my mother got to know about it, she got angry and took her away from our home. But if she hadn’t known about it, it would have gone on and on,” he said.
Shalom’s account highlights a deeply distressing experience from his childhood, which he attributed to a lack of proper care and protection at the time.
He said the abuse stopped after his mother learned about it and acted by sending his aunt away from their home.
