Musician Laika Music has sparked conversation about modern relationships after revealing that she has no problem dating someone who can provide good food and enjoyable experiences.
Speaking about dating in Uganda, Laika argued that people sometimes make relationships more complicated than they need to be, saying that spending time together, sharing meals and enjoying each other’s company can also form part of dating.
The singer said she would be comfortable dating someone who regularly takes her out for good meals, including steak and seafood, suggesting that such arrangements can be worthwhile.
“In Uganda, dating is exaggerated. Dating can be going out with someone and eating food. I can date for free food. If someone can take me for steak or seafood every night, why can’t I date you?” she said in part.
Laika’s remarks offer her perspective on dating and the benefits she believes can come from spending time with someone who is willing to treat her well.
