Musician John Blaq has weighed in on comparisons between Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz and Ugandan artistes, saying local musicians are yet to match his level of success.
Speaking in an interview with a local television station, John Blaq described Diamond as the biggest artiste in the region, arguing that his contribution to East African music deserves recognition and respect.
“Diamond Platnumz is the only person raising our flag in the region. He is the biggest thing and deserves respect. We can’t match him at the moment,” he said.
John Blaq also revealed that he would love to collaborate with Diamond Platnumz but currently lacks the financial capacity to make the project happen.
