MC Kapale says Alex Muhangi can no longer afford him as he returns from the US, vowing to focus on his own comedy shows instead of Comedy Store.

Comedy Store boss Alex Muhangi has revealed that the main reason behind forming the Uganda National Comedians Federation is to access government funding.

In March 2025, musician Bebe Cool petitioned court against Alex Muhangi over copyright infringement.

Grade One Magistrate Nicholas Aisu issued the orders following a request by Muhangi’s lawyer, Robert Rutaro, to allow his client to resolve the dispute outside court.

Comedian Alex Muhangi has been embroiled in a bitter dispute with singer Bebe Cool for almost a month now.

He adds that the posting of Bebe Cool's performance videos on YouTube is only for promotional purposes and nothing more.

At the time, reports indicated he refused to perform because Muhangi failed to clear his balance as per the contract the two agreed on.

Muhangi explained that Bebe Cool has earned a lot of money from Comedy Store, totaling over 100 million Ugandan shillings.

Muhangi reportedly promised to pay Bebe Cool after the performance, an arrangement the Gagamel boss refused, leading to his decision not to perform.
