Government has been urged to take affirmative action to improve the livelihoods of Ugandans in the Karamoja sub-region.

A section of elders in Kotido district have demanded an apology from the troubled minister in charge of Karamoja Affairs over the theft of Karamoja relief items.

District Chairpersons in the Karamoja sub-region have joined their Members of Parliament calling for the immediate arrest of the Minister in charge of Karamoja Affairs Mary Gorreti Kitutu to aid the investigations into the alleged theft of iron sheets. 

Officers under the Police Anti Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) command in Karamoja have been urged to observe human rights and be disciplined in the course of their duties.
