MTN partners. MTN Uganda, in partnership with the Entebbe Club, marked a significant milestone today with the groundbreaking ceremony for the new MTN Halfway House at the Entebbe Club premises. This groundbreaking event symbolizes MTN Uganda’s commitment to supporting the development of the Entebbe Club and the growth of golf in Uganda.

In April 2023, MTN Uganda pledged an investment of close to UGX 1 billion over three years, consisting of operational and infrastructural support, as part of its partnership with the Entebbe Club. This investment includes funding for the construction of the new MTN Halfway House, which will serve as a vital amenity for golfers during their rounds.

Brian Mugisha, the acting manager of the Entebbe Club, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “As Entebbe Club, this is a great achievement and reflects steadfast progress towards the completion of this project. Not so long ago, in December 2023, at the MTN Grand Tee of Tees, we had the Laying of the foundation stone, and here we are two months later doing the groundbreaking. It’s really amazing to see that we’re moving at such a great pace, and it gives me confidence that we shall deliver a standard MTN Halfway House pod.”

Mugisha further extended his gratitude to MTN Uganda for its support, saying, “Entebbe Club is honored to partner with you, and indeed together, we’re unstoppable.”

John Paul Okwi, the MTN Events and Sponsorship Manager, echoed Mugisha’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of the new MTN Halfway House for the club and its members. “This groundbreaking for the MTN Halfway House symbolizes MTN Uganda’s commitment to supporting the development of the Entebbe Club and the growth of golf in Uganda,” said Okwi. “We are excited to see this new halfway house built so that players have a cozy and stylish place to rest and enjoy light snacks and refreshments during their rounds.”

The construction of the MTN Halfway House marks another step forward in MTN Uganda’s ongoing partnership with the Entebbe Club, reinforcing the company’s dedication to investing in the local community and promoting sports development in Uganda.
