Dancehall musician Shaik Walukaaga, also known as Fik Gaza, has distanced himself from claims of betraying Bobi Wine to join the National Resistance Movement.
In an interview with a local television station, Fik Gaza explained that he is still a member of the National Unity Platform and a strong supporter of its President, Bobi Wine.
He says it is his critics who spread false allegations and propaganda about him leaving the party, but he has not done so.
Fik Gaza adds that he is not in a working relationship with the ruling government but has friends inside the NRM, including the Junior Minister for Youths, Balaam Barugahara.
"I have never quit NUP. I have never betrayed the party, as alleged. I am still a strong member of the National Unity Platform despite working with a few people in the NRM, like Balaam. It's only enemies who spread false propaganda that I'm leaving the party, but I'm still there," he explained in an interview with a local television station.
Fik Gaza was responding to allegations of receiving ten million Ugandan shillings from the ruling government to distribute among the youth in different areas of Kampala.
Fik Gaza was popular in circles of the National Unity Platform and opposition politics in the early years of his career. However, he is now a darling within the NRM and is also paying allegiance to Alien Skin, a popular critic of Bobi Wine and the National Unity Platform.
