Dancehall musician Fik Gaza was once at war with Alien Skin, a conflict highly instigated by their political differences at the time. During that period, Fik Gaza was a darling of the National Unity Platform, while Alien Skin was aligned with the ruling government.
Often, they clashed over differing opinions in the Ghetto, and many times their conflict became physical in various ghettos of Kampala.
The two artists reconciled earlier this year and are currently on good terms. They are always spending their time together, "feeding on grass" in areas of Makindye (this phrase is a bit unusual and might be an idiom. If it's meant literally, it's quite striking; if it's an idiom, it might be worth clarifying its meaning in the context of their friendship).
Fik Gaza now says he can never be at war with Alien Skin over political differences again. He explained that his being a supporter of NUP and Alien Skin supporting NRM has no effect on their friendship.
"Being in NUP does not affect my friendship with Alien Skin. Politics cannot come between us. Alien Skin and I remain close friends," he explained.
Fik Gaza is seen by many in the National Unity Platform as a "sell-out" after making a deal with Balaam Barugahare, but he insists he remains a member of the biggest opposition party in the country.
