Tycoon Emmanuel Lwasa has been in the media for almost a month now, and not for good reasons as usual. He has been accused of selling family property in Kibuye.
A woman named Harriet, who claims to be his legally married wife, has accused him of domestic violence and selling family property, including houses and land.
Harriet explained she has suffered at Lwasa's hands for years, stating he beats her endlessly and forced her to flee their home for a safe haven.
"I have been in this place since I was nineteen years old. I am his legally married wife, wedded in the church. I have suffered for years to keep this property, but now he wants to take it forcefully. I have been beaten endlessly and can no longer stay in the house for my own safety," she explained in an interview with a local television station.
Lwasa's wife says he has colluded with Kibuye police officers, who are consistently keeping her away from the property she has lived on for over thirty years.
She appealed to the Ministry of Lands and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to come to her rescue before it's too late.
"I appeal to Minister Judith Nabakooba, Minister Sam Mayanja, and President Museveni to help me because my life is in danger at the moment," she added.
Lwasa, however, in the same interview, denied the allegations of domestic violence and selling of the property.
